Meet Dana, a German Shepherd from Kherson, Ukraine.

Dana the German Shepherd beside donated medical supplies

After the city’s liberation, she became a symbol of hope for people living through the war. Today, she is part of a volunteer effort supporting those who defend, protect, and help others.

Together with her human, Dana accompanies deliveries of essential supplies to Ukrainian soldiers, police officers, and rescue workers. Their work has included hundreds of parcels as well as deliveries in person, bringing practical help and a friendly face to people facing difficult days.

This website follows Dana’s life beyond the deliveries, too. Through photographs and stories, you can share in her adventures, everyday walks, and quiet moments of rest. These small glimpses of ordinary life belong alongside the volunteer work: they show the dog at the heart of it all.

You can become part of Dana’s story by supporting her on Patreon or making a donation. Your support helps keep the volunteer effort going. Thank you for taking an interest in Dana, in Kherson, and in the people she and her human continue to help.
